The LED spectrum is enhanced with cyan light during the day which stimulates the retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) that are responsible for the non-visual effects of light, melanopic illuminance can help improve alertness, enhance visual comfort, mood, cognitive performance, stimulates creativity and reduces stress. The Melanopic Daylight Efficacy Ratio (Melanopic-DER) is a measure of the biological impact of an artificial light source compared to natural daylight with a color temperature of 6500K. A reference daylight spectrum has a Melanopic-DER of 1. The higher the Melanopic-DER value, the greater the impact of the lighting on the body’s circadian rhythm. Fusion-K Melanopic+ is available with a CCT of 3000K (MDER=0.59, M/P Ratio=0.65) or 4000K (MDER=0.67, M/P Ratio=0.74).
