Atomis warranty policy 2022 LED fixtures

Validity:

The Atomis warranty policy applies to all Atomis indoor LED lighting fixtures delivered and invoiced after July 1, 2022. Atomis guarantees that during the stated warranty period, the delivered products are free from manufacturing and material defects. This warranty does not apply to products with a delivery date before July 1, 2022.

This warranty policy applies exclusively when referenced in a purchase agreement between Atomis (sales organization) and you as the purchasing party from Atomis (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Buyer’) of Atomis LED fixtures, and replaces the standard warranty provision from Atomis’s general terms and conditions of delivery.

The warranty covers exclusively product failure caused by proven material, construction, or production defects as well as failure rates that exceed the average nominal failure rate. For electronic operating devices or components such as LED modules, the average nominal failure rate is 0.2%/1000 operating hours, unless the average nominal lifespan and nominal failure rate of a device or component are defined differently in the product specifications (information sheet, product brochure, etc.).

This factory warranty is a guarantee for the repair of a defective part and/or the delivery of a replacement product or part. All replacement products or parts may contain new or refurbished materials that are equivalent to new products or parts in terms of capacity and reliability. The replacement product may differ slightly (justifiably) from the original product in terms of dimensions and design.

Warranty period:

Subject to the provisions in the warranty conditions, the Buyer is entitled to warranty during the applicable period as stated below

5-year warranty:

  • Atomis LED indoor lighting fixtures delivered from July 1, 2022, except for Meson aqua LED products, product specials (specially made project fixtures not included in the standard collection and catalog), and LED fixtures falling under the Atomis Essential Line series, for which different warranty terms apply as stated below.

3-year warranty:

  • Atomis Essential Line LED fixtures

1-year warranty:

  • Meson aqua LED fixtures
  • product specials
  • Light control systems
  • Emergency lighting units

Warranty conditions:

  • The warranty begins on the invoice date. The warranty period is based on a burning time of max. 4,000 hours/year and the ambient temperature never falls outside the operating temperature range of -20°C to +30°C. With a burning time of more than 4,000 hours per year, the warranty period is adjusted proportionally.
  • This warranty policy only applies when the products are properly installed and operated in accordance with Atomis’s product sheet and installation instructions.
  • This warranty only applies to products sold in Europe. In other regions, our standard warranty conditions apply as stated in our general terms and conditions of delivery, which we will send you upon request.
  • Adequate administration of the operating history and maintenance is maintained and available for inspection by Atomis.
  • Labor costs/wages for the (de)installation of the products as well as transport costs are not covered under this warranty.
  • Atomis’s warranty only applies to the Buyer. When a product covered by this warranty is returned by the Buyer and is within the applicable warranty period stated in the warranty policy and Atomis determines after examination that the product in question meets this warranty in its opinion, Atomis will repair or replace the product or the defective part thereof at its own discretion. For clarity, ‘repairing or replacing the product or the defective part thereof’ does not include removal or reinstallation work or costs or expenses, including but not limited to labor wages or costs.
  • When Atomis chooses to replace the Product but is unable to do so because its production has been discontinued or it is not available, Atomis may at its discretion compensate the Buyer for the purchase amount or replace the product with a comparable product (which may show minor differences in design and product specifications).

Additional conditions:

  • The warranty does not cover
    • a) all incidental costs arising in connection with the repair of defects (such as for installation and removal, transport of the defective and repaired or new product, disposal, travel costs, lifting equipment, scaffolding) and any consequential damage; these costs are at the buyer’s expense;
    • b) Plastic parts that may discolor and become brittle due to the natural aging process.
  • The warranty expires immediately if changes are made to the product or repairs are carried out without written permission from Atomis, or if the product is installed improperly or by unqualified personnel.

Reporting defects:

  • All defects during this warranty period must be reported to Atomis within 30 days of their detection, with at least the following information:
    • identification and quantities of the defective products
    • invoice date and installation date
    • detailed description of the problem
    • the application, number of operating hours (burning hours) and switching cycles
  • When a defect is reported to Atomis during the warranty period, an Atomis representative is granted access to the defective product or system to verify non-conformity.
  • Defective materials must be returned to Atomis and become the property of Atomis B.V. after replacement by Atomis.
