Our 5 core values

1 | Circular design

At Atomis Architectural Lighting, we believe that true innovation only begins when technology and circularity come together. For us, circular design is not a marketing term or an afterthought, but a fundamental principle in everything we develop. It determines how our luminaires are constructed, what materials we choose, and how we think about the entire life cycle of a product.

From linear to circular thinking

Traditionally, lighting was designed according to a linear model: produce, install, use, and eventually replace. That model no longer fits the challenges of today. Raw materials are becoming scarcer, sustainability requirements are becoming stricter, and organizations are looking for future-proof solutions. Atomis has therefore consciously chosen a circular approach, where luminaires are designed to remain usable for a long time and can easily be adapted to changing needs.

Our luminaires are modular and fully demountable. This means that essential components such as LED modules, drivers and optical elements can be replaced, repaired or upgraded separately. Instead of writing off a complete luminaire, the base is retained and only the necessary parts are renewed. This significantly extends the lifespan and reduces waste streams.

Thoughtful material selection

Circularity starts with material selection. Atomis works with high-quality, recyclable materials that are not only technically reliable, but also suitable for reuse at the end of their lifespan. Aluminum plays an important role in this: it is light, strong, corrosion-resistant and infinitely recyclable without loss of quality.

In addition, we take the separability of materials into account in the design. Components are constructed in such a way that they can be easily disassembled, without complex bonding or unnecessary combinations of materials. This makes recycling more efficient and increases the chance that raw materials will actually be reused.

Energy efficiency as an integral part

A circular luminaire is not only sustainable in its use of materials, but also in its energy consumption. Atomis luminaires are designed with a strong focus on energy efficiency, without compromising on light quality. By using high-quality LED technology, efficient drivers and precisely designed optics, we achieve a high light output per watt.

This results in lower energy costs for the user and a lower CO₂ footprint during the usage phase, which often determines the largest part of the environmental impact. In combination with a long lifespan and maintenance-friendly construction, this creates a lighting application that is both economically and ecologically responsible.

Ease of maintenance and future-proofing

In many buildings, the function of spaces changes faster than ever. Offices are becoming more flexible, shops are getting different layouts and museums regularly adapt exhibitions. Our circular luminaires respond to this by offering flexibility in use and maintenance.

Due to the modular construction, light characteristics can be adjusted without replacing the entire luminaire. Think of changing an optic for a different beam, upgrading LED modules to a higher efficiency or adjusting the light color to new requirements. This way, lighting continues to move with the times.

Supporting sustainability goals

More and more organizations are formulating concrete sustainability goals in the areas of CO₂ reduction, circularity and responsible purchasing. With circularly designed lighting, Atomis helps to realize these ambitions. Our solutions contribute to certifications and sustainability reports and offer a demonstrably lower environmental impact over the entire life cycle.

With Atomis you choose future-proof lighting. Technically sophisticated. Circularly designed. Lighting that not only meets today’s needs, but also remains relevant tomorrow.

Fugro & circular lighting from Atomis

For Fugro, a global provider of geo-data and engineering services, sustainability is not an abstract concept but an integral part of their business operations. In environments where technology, reliability and long lifespan are crucial, Atomis’ circular vision fits seamlessly.

The Atomis luminaires used are designed according to circular design principles: modular, fully demountable and prepared for future upgrades. LED modules, drivers and optical components are individually replaceable, allowing the luminaire to grow with new technology and preventing complete replacement. This not only reduces the environmental impact, but also the total cost of ownership over the lifespan.

Through the use of high-quality, recyclable materials and energy-efficient lighting technology, the lighting contributes to a lower CO₂ footprint, without compromising on light quality or reliability. Exactly what is needed in a professional, international working environment such as that of Fugro.

With this circular lighting solution, Atomis supports Fugro in realizing its sustainability ambitions: future-proof, technically sophisticated and responsibly produced. Lighting that fits an organization that looks ahead and takes responsibility.
