For the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, located on the characteristic Waterlooplein, Atomis B.V. contributed to a high-quality lighting project in collaboration with lighting design agency 50LUX. This location, where architecture, design, and creativity converge, required a lighting plan that is both functional and aesthetically refined.
The design by 50LUX is known for its attention to detail, atmosphere, and spatial experience. By using carefully selected luminaires from Atomis, a lighting solution has been realized that enhances the architectural qualities of the building and perfectly matches the use of the various spaces.
The lighting concept has been developed for several key areas within the academy:
Each space required its own lighting approach, tailored to function, atmosphere, and comfort.
The Lightscape-S 80 has been deployed as a linear architectural lighting solution that provides calm and uniform basic illumination. Thanks to its sleek design, the luminaire integrates seamlessly into the modern interior architecture of the academy and supports the spatial lines of the building.
The lighting design by 50LUX perfectly combines functionality and atmosphere. Through a balanced combination of general and accent lighting, an environment is created that is both inspiring and comfortable for students, lecturers, and visitors. The lighting not only supports daily activities but also emphasizes the architectural character of the building.
This project at the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam demonstrates the power of collaboration between design and technology. With high-quality luminaires from Atomis B.V. and the well-thought-out lighting concept from 50LUX, a future-proof and aesthetic lighting solution has been realized that suits an institution where architecture is central.
