Following the pilot store on the Lijnbaan in Rotterdam, ECCO also opened a store on the Leidsestraat in Amsterdam. This location required more than just implementing the latest store concept. The building has a so-called split-level layout, which required extra attention to sight lines, routing, and spatial experience.

Together with the parties involved, Atomis contributed constructively to making the store more open and accessible. An important intervention was the removal of the old, closed staircase. In its place, an open staircase has been placed, centrally in the store. This staircase is not only a functional element, but also an architectural center point that ensures more connection between the different levels and better readability of the space.

Lighting plays a key role in this. By using directional LED spots and wall lighting, products, walls and walking lines are accentuated in a natural way. This creates a clear, inviting store environment in which the product is central and the space feels well-organized.

In this project, the following fixtures were used, among others: Meson Square 180 directional LED spots, gimbal rail spots and Mitron spots, supplemented with Meson Square 120 wall projectors. This combination ensures flexibility, accent lighting and even basic lighting that matches the look of the brand.

A retail project in which architecture, interior and light come together and in which lighting contributes to both experience and functionality.
