Shimano is a Japanese company with a global reputation as a market leader in the development and production of high-quality bicycle components, as well as rods and reels for sport fishing. Innovation, precision, and reliability are central to everything Shimano does. These same values are reflected in the accommodation of the European headquarters.

The building was designed by Fokkema & Partners Architecten from Delft, known for their clear, functional architecture with great attention to light, space, and user comfort. For Shimano, it was important that the headquarters not only had a representative appearance but also provided a pleasant and efficient working environment for employees and visitors. The design supports collaboration, concentration, and transparency, fitting for an international organization with a strong technological focus.

Huisman & van Muijen from ‘s-Hertogenbosch acted as consultants and played an important role in translating Shimano’s ambitions into concrete technical solutions. Explicit attention was paid to energy efficiency, indoor climate, and comfort. In a modern headquarters, these aspects are inextricably linked and determine the daily experience of the users.

The technical installations were realized by Schrijvers Technical Installations from Oss. They ensured careful and high-quality execution, with all installations seamlessly coordinated. Reliability and continuity are crucial in a building that functions as a European headquarters, and this requires installations that are sustainable and future-proof.

Atomis Fusion-K climate ceiling luminaires were chosen for the lighting. These luminaires combine lighting with climate functionality in one integrated solution. By incorporating the lighting into the climate ceiling, a calm and sleek ceiling appearance is created, while simultaneously ensuring an even, comfortable light distribution. This contributes to a pleasant working environment and supports the focus and productivity of employees.
