Atomis is proud to have supplied the new, sustainable, and high-quality lighting for Hardenberg Town Hall. This project is a prime example of how modern lighting technology, energy efficiency, and aesthetics come together in a future-proof working environment. From the initial design study to the final delivery, Atomis worked closely with the involved parties to ensure that the lighting solutions fully align with the client’s wishes and the functional requirements of a contemporary town hall.
The Hardenberg Town Hall recently underwent an extensive renewal of its interior lighting. The focus was on a combination of comfort, sustainability, and optimal light quality. For this purpose, Atomis selected fixtures that stand out for their high efficiency, long lifespan, and very low environmental impact. Thanks to this choice, total energy consumption has been significantly reduced without compromising visual comfort or the lighting experience.
During the engineering phase, various versions of linear recessed and pendant fixtures were evaluated, tailored to the building’s architecture and layout. Part of this process included several mock-ups and test fixtures, which allowed both the light distribution and technical feasibility to be verified. This approach, specifically applied to Hardenberg Town Hall, ensured that the client gained insight into the appearance and functionality of the new lighting at an early stage.
Essential to this project was the balance between direct and indirect light. By using advanced optics and precisely set light distributions, an evenly lit working environment was created that fully complies with current standards, including NEN-EN 12464-1 for office spaces. Furthermore, the chosen fixtures are equipped with modern DALI control, allowing light levels to be regulated efficiently and flexibly. This technology integrates perfectly with the existing installations within Hardenberg Town Hall, enabling seamless integration.
In addition to functionality, sustainability played a central role. For Hardenberg Town Hall, fixtures were chosen with a long lifespan (L90B50 ≥ 60,000 hours) and a very consistent light color, thanks to high-quality LED modules with maximum 3-step MacAdam binning. The housings are also manufactured from materials with a low environmental impact, fully aligning with the sustainability ambitions of the Municipality of Hardenberg. As a result, the modernization of the lighting not only provides immediate energy savings but also contributes to lower maintenance costs and a longer technical lifespan for the entire lighting installation.
Logistics were also customized. Because the project was carried out floor by floor and minimal packaging waste was desired, Atomis coordinated the delivery using roll containers, batch-wise delivery, and custom connection cables specifically produced for Hardenberg Town Hall. This precise coordination prevented unnecessary handling at the project site and ensured efficient execution in collaboration with the installer.
The result is a fully modernized lighting installation that matches the ambitions of a future-oriented government building. The new lighting in Hardenberg Town Hall increases visual comfort for employees and visitors, improves workplace lighting, supports a pleasant daylight experience, and demonstrably contributes to the building’s sustainability. Moreover, the uniform light quality enhances the architectural appearance of the interior and aligns with the building’s representative function.
Atomis looks back with pride on the realization of this project. The combination of technical customization, high-quality fixtures, and close cooperation with all parties involved has led to a sustainable and beautiful lighting solution that Hardenberg Town Hall will benefit from for many years. With this, Atomis once again confirms its position as a reliable partner for high-quality, Dutch lighting solutions within public and commercial buildings.
Thank you for the pleasant and successful collaboration and for the trust in Atomis!
